Chiropractic is a drugless and non-surgical form of health care that aims to treat causes rather than just symptoms.
The term 'chiropractic' literally translated means 'done by hand' and chiropractic encourages good health, relieves pain and restores function by adjustments of the spine and other joints of the body using the chiropractors hands.
The gentle nature of the McTimoney Chiropractic technique makes it especially suitable for people of all ages including young babies, pregnant women and the elderly.
The McTimoney method of chiropractic is typified by a whole body assessment and swift, light force adjustments, which makes it a comfortable treatment to receive.

Osteopathy is a recognised system of health care that places its main emphasis on the structural and functional integrity of the body.
The essential tools of an osteopath are his/her hands, these are used to detect areas of restricted motion, tenderness and other signs which may relate to problems involving joints, muscles, ligaments and vital organs of the body.
The techniques used are not simply to relieve pain but to identify and, where possible, remove the cause.
Manipulation & Mobilisation
Mobilisation and Manipulation describes a range of techniques employed by a physical therapist to GENTLY relieve discomfort and restore function to joints of the body. The therapist may use their hands and therapeutic equipment to deliver care.
Muscular skeletal conditions, whether acute or chronic, including back pain, neck pain and other joint problems often respond well to treatment. Treatment should not be painful although discomfort can increase initially following a visit.
Self Help to aid rehabilitation will be encouraged.
Cranial osteopathy or therapy focuses on relieving stress and tension throughout the body but primarily within the head.
The practitioner will make tiny adjustments and work with the body’s cranial rhythm to restore function and full potential to this pivotal system. Typically this is achieved by small, subtle and gentle manipulation of the bones of the skull using the practitioner’s hands.
Because it is such a gentle form of therapy, it can be practised on people with a wide range of conditions, and is suitable for all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
Some of our practitioners have a special interest in working with babies and children. Speak to one of them for further information.
